Barcelona to swoop on Moses in the summer







Super Eagles and Chelsea forward Victor Moses has been named among top 10 players that are likely to be hyjacked by Spanish side Barcelona in their bid to fortify and take back the driving seat in the Spanish la Liga and beyond.

The Catalan giants have seriously wobbled this season, and look set to crash out of the Champions League at the last 16 after a 4-0 defeat to Paris St-Germain in the first leg.

Real Madrid look likely to pip them to the league title too, this has got fans and analyst talking to the effect that Luis Enrique  or whoever may replace him should he leave will have no choice but sign  a couple of new additions to the squad.

Moses who has remained consistent in Chelsea line up is seen as having the speed and quality that can easily see him fit into the Barcelona squad 

Topping the list of ten stars that may not escape the eyes of the Catalan giants in the summer transfer according to Dailystar is Tottenham forward Kyle Walker followed by PSG's Marco Verratti and Southampton's Cedric Soares in that order with the Nigerian international Victor Moses coming in as the fourth option.
 The former Wigan Athletic ace has been enjoying reasonable playing time since his return to the Stamford Bridge under coach Antonio Conte. Other players on the Barcelona probability list include Jaunfran Moreno (Depotivo),Ander Herrera (Manchester Utd),Bruma (Galatasaray)Phillip Couthinho (Liverpool) Serge Aurler(PSG)and Hector Bellerin (Arsenal).

Aiyegbeni may open goal account against Swindon











Super Eagles ace Yakubu Aiyegbeni who recently pitched tent with League one Side Coventry, may open goal account against visiting Swindon Town on Saturday.

The former Portsmouth and Everton forward has earned cumulative 49 minutes playing time with his new team coming in as substitute the 1-1 away draw against AFC Wimbledon where he saw 29 minutes action and 2-1 home defeat of Gillingham where he played for  20 minutes.

Swindon Town who are equally in the relegation zone but two places above bottom placed Coventry will be guests at the Ricoh Arena and Coach Russell Slade and his boys have eyes set on earning crucial three points as they attempt to swim out of relegation waters. 
 
The embattled side have only managed to garner 25 points in 32 matches with coach Slade telling whoever cares to listen that the Yak was specifically engaged to score goals to enable them side escape relegation.
Some Coventry fans are already predicting that the Nigerian international who scored 24 goals in 43 appearances for Chinese Super League Guangzhou R&F in the 2012/2013 season could open his goal account against Swindon.

Ajoku vows to score against Gombe United







Niger Tornadoes leading goal scorer in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Chidebere Blessing Ajoku says he hopes to re-discover his scoring form beginning with the tie against Gombe United on Sunday.

Ajoku last scored on match day 7 in Niger Tornadoes 0-1 win over Remo Stars in Sagamu, revealing that he is not happy to have played two matches now without registering his name in the score sheet especially after setting 15 goals target for himself.

“I am not happy that I have not scored since getting the lone goal winner at the match day 7 at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu”, he said.
The former Heartland striker said that he has been training hard with intent to bouncing back with a bang, adding that the desire in the tie against Gombe United is not just about scoring but claiming the three points at stake

“It is not about me scoring, but if I see the opportunity I will take it. I am not going to force it happen, goal scoring is
a natural thing. If I can’t score I will assist others to score. It is a team work”, Ajoku explained.

Ajoku currently has four goals to his name even as Tornadoes sit 8th on the log with 12 points in nine matches, Sunday opponents Gombe are just two places below with 11 points in nine matches.

Battle of Cathedral: Uwadiegwu happy with Rangers’ form









No nonsense defender Ugwu Uwadiegwu is at home with the form of Rangers international ahead of the second leg of CAF Champions league tie against JS Saoura o f Algeria on Sunday.

The spirit in the camp of the flying antelopes according to him is one that can ginger any team to go the extra mile with a view to achieving set target.

The former Enyimba strong man who described the team’s away draw in the first leg as a major boosts maintained that the odds favour Rangers when both teams file out at the Cathedral even as he urged the team’s fans to come out in large numbers to cheer the side to victory.

“I trust the confident level in camp and I am optimistic that it will be of great benefit to us. The away draw is a major boost and I am optimistic that we will have a good game on Sunday,” he enthused

Uwadiegwu whose experience in the champions league is sure to be added advantage for the Coal City Boys having played in the continental with Enyimba, however noted that JS Saoura are a formidable side despite the draw and should not be underrated.

“It is true that we created more chances and should have won the match but the Algerians are a good side that should not be underrated,” he submitted

Rangers General Manager and former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu had earlier given his side a pat on the back for putting up a good fight in Algiers while challenging the team to maintain same level of concentration to finish the job that has been started on Sunday at the Cathedral.
